About the event

Pranayama is the ancient yogic science of intentionally controlling the flow of prana within the body using the breath. Prana is the primordial life force energy of the universe that animates all life according to ancient yogic traditions.  The way we breathe directly affects all aspects of our being from the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. Science has proven what the ancients have taught about altering our state of being through the use of various breathing techniques to induce a variety of states including deep relaxation, introspection, excitation, and even mystical experiences. Depending on the type of breath, different states of being are achieved. During this workshop we will introduce the concepts and foundations of Pranayama as well as introducing three different breath exercises for you to learn and experience. Breathwork is a fantastic tool to add to your self care resources that can help balance and center you during the hurry and bustle of daily life. This class is for all ages and requires no prior experience or equipment. Simply show up with an open mind ready to learn and try something new that will add to your toolkit of self care resources.
